The Diocese of Knoxville’s program for the protection of children and
youth is based on training developed by Virtus and offered through the Religious
Education Office. A three-hour seminar for adults, “Protecting God’s
Children,” is required for employees and regular volunteers in parishes
and schools and recommended for parents and grandparents.
As of Sept. 3, 2,231 people throughout the diocese have attended Virtus training
sessions and registered online.
The following training sessions are available:
- Knoxville Catholic High School, 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10
- St. Dominic Church, Kingsport, 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12
- St. Thérèse of Lisieux Church, Cleveland, 7 p.m. Thursday,
Sept. 16
- Holy Trinity Church, Jefferson City, 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18
- All Saints Church, Knoxville, 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18
- Good Shepherd Church, Newport, 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18
- Our Lady of Fatima Church, Alcoa, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21
- Catholic Charities, Knoxville, 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8.
