Glade’s longtime parish-news reporter retiring after 10 years

June 20, 2004

Roseann Strazinsky of Fairfield Glade is retiring from her 10-year job of reporting St. Francis of Assisi Parish news to the media.

East Tennessee Catholic readers have seen Mrs. Strazinsky’s work reflected in hundreds of news items published in the parish-notes section over the years, as well as in a number of 50th-wedding-anniversary photographs and other submissions highlighting St. Francis members and events.

Mrs. Strazinsky and her husband, Steve, have been married for 36 years. They moved to Fairfield Glade from Danville, Pa., in 1983. Their hometown is Cleveland, Ohio.

The Strazinskys have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Their newest addition is little Jillian Victoria, born in the Ukraine and adopted by their daughter, Stephanie.

Even though she is retiring from news-reporting, Mrs. Strazinsky will keep busy singing in the St. Francis choir, which had only three members when she joined it in 1983. Her other interests include oil painting, cake decorating, crafts, playing cards and dominoes, and watching sports on TV. She will continue to report on the wedding anniversaries of parishioners, a practice she began several years ago.
