Tony Krug

Anthony Charles “Tony” Krug died Sunday, May 30, at Alexian Village Health Care Center in Signal Mountain.

Born in Chattanooga on July 26, 1906, Mr. Krug was a World War II veteran. He served in the 445th Bombardment Group (H) stationed at Tibenham, Norfolk, England, in the Second Combat Wing, Second Air Division, of the Eighth Air Force, under the command of Jimmy Stewart. He retired from the Electric Power Board of Chattanooga. Mr. Krug was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Chattanooga.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Ada Parks Krug. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Margaret Parks Evans.

A funeral Mass was held Wednesday, June 2, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Burial followed in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Mario Scallia

Mario Thomas Scallia, 93, of Chattanooga and Sandusky, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 2, in Sandusky.

He is survived by a son, Andrew Paul Scallia and wife Barbara of Chattanooga; a daughter, Diana Scallia Cunningham and husband Jim of Atlanta; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Scallia’s wife, Mary Josephine Dee Scallia, preceded him in death.

Services were held Saturday, June 5, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Father James L. Vick officiating. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Chattanooga. Friends and family members are invited to share thoughts and memories at www.mem.com
