Child-protection training sessions

The Diocese of Knoxville’s “safe environment” program for the protection of children and youth is based on training developed by Virtus and offered through the Office of Religious Education. A three-hour seminar for adults, “Protecting God’s Children,” is required for all employees and regular volunteers in parishes and schools and recommended for parents and grandparents.

The following training sessions are available:

  • St. Mary Church, Gatlinburg, 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 13
  • All Saints Church, Knoxville, 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 15
  • Christ the King Church, Tazewell, 1 pm. Saturday, April 17
  • St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fairfield Glade, 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8
  • St. Dominic Church, Kingsport, 9 a.m. Sunday, May 16
  • St. Mary Church, Johnson City, 9 a.m. May 29.
